Well - it's gone into another year since I've been on here. A lot has happened in our lives recently, but we're getting through it just fine. As long as I have my dear husband, Rocky, we can go through anything together. I am so fortunate to have him in my life.

I am going to be going to Ruidoso with Annetta in a few days.... AFTER we see Eclipse in Fort Worth with my two daughters, friends Cynthia and Penny and Annetta and Morgan, my niece. We are fast and furiously painting for an order that we have to finish before we go.... and I also have a class on Monday with a fabulous teacher, Wendy Watson, who lives nearby. So - these next few weeks are going to be very busy for me.

Just thought I would pop in and write a few notes for anyone who is interested.

I'll check in while we're in Ruidoso and hopefully post a few pictures.

Time has Flown By

Oh my goodness... I have really neglected my blog. I'm going to try and keep this us as an incentive for me to get back to painting and a schedule. If I can wean myself from this computer for awhile. Normally, I just check eMails, etc... but now I have found Facebook and a bunch of the games on there. You would think an almost 62 year old would not like the games... but NOT.... I do enjoy them.. so I'm making time to do a few. I just can't let them take over... LOL.

Annetta and I have a show in November, so we have to get off our tush's and start painting. Hopefully, I can post pictures here so it will motivate me to paint more. Hope it won't be 3 months next time when I post... LOL....

Sorry for neglecting my blog... been very busy with family and friends. You know how it gets in the summertime!! We try to cram as much stuff into the months between school times (when you have grandchildren) as possible. I'll have pictures in awhile. I'm waiting right now on two of my grandchildren to come out for awhile and play while their Mom and sister are doing photo shoots and looking for sponsers (I'll tell you about that later)!! Also Madeline - my oldest granddaughter, is going to Volleyball camp this week... so Big Daddy and I are helping out with the two younger ones this week. Madeline has the job of babysitting them this summer while their Mom and Dad are at work. I'll be she will be glad when school starts... LOL... She's doing a great job though. I have to finish my makeup before they get here... so will add more later!

Just a quick note... been away awhile. Getting better every day. Dr. Kaiser took me off Coumadin and said I could drive. I get to take my Aleve now and can also have margarita's, etc... LOL... I think I'll make up a pitcher of Ranch punch tomorrow... if we have any Tequila after the Memorial Day weekend. We had such a great time. I'll come back and post pictures later. I've talked to all my kiddo's today... except RJ. I'll call him in awhile. That's all for today.. have to go and start supper... we're having spaghetti... yum....

Back after surgery

What an experience.... It was a doozy this time. I am now starting to feel human again. I've been through three replacements already... but this one... almost did me in.... LOL.... Not really... just whining. I'm starting to walk without too much pain... but think I have a pinched nerve in my buttox... not a pleasant thing. Hopefully, it's just from the surgery, and nothing else wrong. It's a lazy Mother's Day... Angela and Amy have called... Annetta has texted and eMailed... but having heard from RJ yet. I know he'll get around to it... maybe... LOL... Annetta and I talked about Mom and how we are really missing her today. She was such an important part of our lives, especially being half-way responsible for her in the last few years. I know she is looking down on us today and smiling.

Friday musings

It's Friday morning... I did everything I was supposed to yesterday, except wash the car. Got back about 7:30 p.m. Was Whupped!!!! LOL.... Talked to Amy about her house (she's in the process of buying her first house) and how she needed to pack... LOL... it will be a couple of days before her move and she will be packing like crazy...!! Angela is packing for her family to come down and spend a couple of days so I can see her before my surgery (hip replacement on Monday). I'm really looking forward to seeing all of them.

Brazos (my golden) has found a friend next door... a new puppy... that has found a way through our fence and comes and visits us. As long as he comes here and Brazos doesn't get out.. I don't really care, except he doesn't mind when we call him cause he's playing.... Just like a child.... LOL...

Rocky James (my son) called yesterday... but I couldn't get him back. They are all coming out on Saturday for a cookout and let all the kiddo's play and then Sunday we are going to Joe's Crab Shack and have crawfish, crab and Margarita's.... wonderful... I can't wait.

Talked to Ned this morning - she's cleaning her bedroom. One day she will get on here and let us know what she's up to. At least she's painting!!

Since I have surgery on Monday - I need to get some more things done... like planting our plants that we bought. I got that Topsy Turvey thing for the tomato's... I'll let you know how that turns out.

New Furniture.. but not enough room!!

Well - I went overboard again with the Furniture. I wanted to have enough seating for everyone when they visited... so... instead of a Love Seat... I got another full couch. We have a large living room... but not that large... LOL... So - got myself in a pickle again... Usually do. We also have a chair 1/2...huge... that I have no room for. And... to top it off... we are having two recliners being delivered at any moment from Haverty's. I guess I'll have to get creative... have my oldest daughter (who is very creative with interior decorating) come and help me. Here are the couch's. Huge!!!

Easter was fun!!!

On Easter Sunday my son and his family came out and we dyed and hunted Easter Eggs. Instead of fixing a huge dinner and messing up the kitchen, my son suggested going to Joe's Crab Shack (he's GM) and having lunch there. That was a wonderful suggestion!! No cooking for Mom!! So we loaded up and went to eat some wonderful food. I've loaded some pictures from the Easter Egg hunt

Altered Art Easter Cards

I finished up my Easter cards for my grandchildren. I think they came out really cute. I'm going to try and post my first pictures!! They are done in black and white polka dots... with a pink checked paper next... then some eyelet trim and their picture. I "doctored" up their picture and put pink bunny ears on them!! I think they look so cute.

Eventful day Yesterday!

My husband, Rocky, and I were working on the pool yesterday and finally figured out after all kinds of trying to get it clean... we had just messed up by not doing it sooner!! That's the story of our life sometimes... LOL.... But, we decided to try one more thing... a power washer... so we got ours out of the garage.. and it wouldn't start. Rock remembered this happened one other time and that they sent us a part. It was a new plug. So Rock went about cutting and splicing the cord. He came in and said "it won't work". We forgot about that for now, because he had a doctor's appointment for a place on his lower back that was hurting him. We went to Dr. Shimotsu (whom we have been going to for about 13 years now) and it was an abcess. So - right then and there, she decided to cut it open. Well... after all that was done, we had to go get prescriptions, etc. and he's to see her again today. We didn't get home until about 7:00 and then I hi-tailed it back to HEB to get prescriptions. We watched American Idol and part of Lies and then went to bed. I had to do all those "nurse" things...take out packing, pack it back in... and bandage him back up. He couldn't sleep on his back last night. And... he goes to see the Doc again at noon today. I hope she approves of my nursing skills!! I don't do that very well.. I can't stand a needle even... I don't watch when I get a shot. So - this was a test in fortitude for me. Must love that man!!

Anyway - planning on having a great day today....after the doctor.. it looks like I'm finishing up the pool!! Anyone want to come and help?

Working on Easter Cards

I'm working on my first Altered Cards!!! I didn't think I would like to do them... but... I think I've gotten the fever.. LOL... All the scrapbookers out there.... I just wondered what was so addictive!! Now I know... LOL... Anyway - I'm almost done... I'm going to put a picture on pretty soon. I haven't given out my blog address to my family yet.. so they should get the card before they see it. I'm mailing them out today.

Cleaning the Pool and Income Tax

I don't know which is worse!!! I think the income tax is... LOL... But that's over and done with and now to cleaning the pool. I have some things to do around the house.. and then will get with this blog and start adding and decorating it some. Have to tell friends about it too.....
